Jardiniere, secretary, banquette, console: antique furniture. Types and models for CNC manufacturing.
Buying antique types of furniture in a regular store is not so easy. But what to do if the interior design requires it (the designer’s idea, style, setting, for example, in a museum, gallery, restaurant?).
You can make rare pieces of furniture with elegant carvings in an antique style on a numerically controlled machine.
And our models will help you with this. A huge range of ready-made stl files will make the process of bringing any idea to life even faster and of higher quality.
But let's move on to our vocabulary. To produce certain types of furniture, you must understand what the customer wants from you and know the meaning of the words listed below.
Banquette:
A banquette is a small bench with a soft seat.
It has no back. But it can be decorated with elegant handrails.
Most often it was made with beautiful, exquisite carvings. Suitable for the bedroom (placed at the foot of the bed), for the hallway (instead of a pouf). Less commonly installed in the living room.
Banquettes were previously intended for reception halls and for the boudoirs of society ladies.
Today this is a popular solution for classic interiors.
Our models of banquettes will allow you to produce this piece of furniture with beautiful carved legs, an elegant drawer decorated with carved flowers and curls, neat handrails on the sides or without them.
Buffet:
It still occurs today.
A buffet is a cabinet designed to store kitchen utensils, beautiful plates, sets, cups, etc. Its upper shelves are usually glass, which allows you to display dishes. The bottom drawer can be closed. In some cases, buffets were made with a folding tabletop.
Our ready-made models of display cases and models of cabinets are suitable for making models of buffets. There is also the possibility of creating a custom model.
Geridon:
If the words “buffet” and “banquette” have not yet left our vocabulary and many people perfectly understand their meaning, then the word “geridon” is quite suitable for the dictionary of antique furniture, as an outdated concept unfamiliar to many.
In fact, it is a table on one leg.
The legs of such tables have always been distinguished by exquisite carvings. And in the Rococo era, they were made in the form of a figure of a Moor from ebony, as if holding a tabletop on his head, like a tray.
This table used to be very popular. Candelabra were placed on it, tea was drunk over it, and solitaire could be played on it. Convenient, lightweight, compact.
Nowadays, such tables are most often placed in the bedroom, in the living room, as coffee tables or reading tables.
Today you can make a beautiful geridon with carvings of any complexity using our models located in the tables, legs, and stands sections.
Jardiniere.
Next in alphabetical order is jardiniere. Another type of small table that has practically gone out of use.
Tall but graceful. Decorated with beautiful carvings. With a small, usually round, tabletop, on three or four thin long legs.
Most often it became a stand for a telephone, a flower pot, or a vase.
You can find suitable models in the section: tables.
Console:
In modern interiors, the console is most often installed in the hallway, under the mirror or under the TV.
This table is more like a shelf. Because the tabletop is attached to the wall. The console has legs, usually two, rarely one. But they serve more for decoration than for support.
The most common model has two legs resting on the floor, and the back of the tabletop is attached to the wall.
The small size of the console and the stationary nature of this piece of furniture do not allow it to be used as a full-fledged table. The compact dimensions mean that keys can be thrown on this table or a bottle of perfume can be placed. That's basically all.
Nevertheless, such tables are popular in our time. Beautiful carving will help create a real work of art.
There is a whole section on our website dedicated to console models. Surely, you will be able to find there an option suitable for your goals and objectives for further production on a CNC machine.
Credence
When talking about antique furniture, one cannot fail to mention credenza. This is a kind of cabinet that was placed in the kitchen. There were hinged doors at the bottom and drawers at the top.
Models suitable for making beautiful carved credenzas in the classical, baroque, empire style, and any other style can be viewed in the sections of cabinets and chests of drawers.
Cassone
Few people know that a cassone is essentially a chest. The second name is much more common. Cassone is a French word that translates as “box.”
A real cassone has beautiful carved decorations on its surface, using a sculptural cutting technique. Such chests were widespread in European countries. Served as a kind of linen closet. And in some cases, they could also serve as a bencher.
Chest models are located in a separate section. See the link.
Chaise:
This sonorous word means a bench, a small sofa. It's as if two chairs were simply pushed together. She has legs there can be 6 or 4 sofas.
Chaises are often distinguished by the presence of two backs (or one, but divided into two parts by some decorative device). It is convenient for two people to sit on such a sofa, turning half a turn towards each other.
The back itself often smoothly transitions into elegant armrests.
A huge number of different antique sofas can be viewed in the section: sofa models.
Best suited for baroque, neo-baroque and classicism styles.
Recamier
Recamier is another bench. The origin of this name is interesting.
The couch is named after Julie Recamier, a French writer and owner of a famous salon in Paris.
This sofa does not have a back in the truest sense of the word. But the armrests are so high that they perfectly replace the backrest.
It was on such a couch that Madame Recamier was depicted by a French painter, which made the bench popular in the interiors of the early 19th century and firmly tied the woman’s name to it, making it a household name.
You can find suitable models in the sections: couches and sofas. Or order exclusive production of the model.
Secretaire:
A secretary is a cabinet in which ladies of the mid-18th century kept their jewelry, diaries, and letters.
The name secretaire actually comes from the word “secret”. This is due to the fact that the closet had hidden cabinets that were locked.
The wardrobe was originally intended for women's boudoir rooms. But then he moved into men’s interiors.
A suitable model can be found in the sections with chests of drawers and nightstands.
Throne:
This is a chair or armchair with a very high back. The place of the monarch. Symbol of power. The real throne was always on a raised platform and richly inlaid with precious stones.
You can find models in different styles in the sections: chairs and armchairs.
There are options with sculptures.
In addition, there is always the possibility of producing an exclusive model based on drawings, sketches, photos, descriptions. Call, write, ask!
