About Buddhism:
Buddhism is an ancient, multifaceted religion. Buddhism arose in ancient India, around the 5th century BC. Distributed throughout most of Asia.

And in many other cultures. Each region acquired its own characteristics and its own characters of the divine pantheon. Each Buddhist school, each time period has its own interpretations.

Types and ranks:
It is simply impossible to present a complete list of all the gods of Buddhism in one article. According to one version, there are more than 100 of them, according to another, more than 1000.
Each culture has its own pantheons, its own categories and its own classification. We will give only one of them.
There are 8 main categories in Tibetan Buddhism.
- 1st rank - these are enlightened buddhas. Their task is to educate and, thereby, save ordinary mortal citizens. Among them are Buddha Shakyamuni, Maitreya (Buddha of the future), three luminaries. And others.
- Rank 2 – Iydams – they are considered guardian deities.
- Rank 3 – Buddhas in human form.
- 4th rank – Bodhisattva. These are those who have achieved enlightenment and nirvana in order to save other beings.
- Rank 5 – female buddhas, who are classified into a separate category and called “air-flying” (dakinis).
- 6th rank – Dharmapalas are deities designed to instill fear in demons, they have many arms, many heads, and are often depicted with animal heads.
- Rank 7 – god of the area Yullha. It is believed that these deities came to Buddhism from more ancient religions and are called upon to patronize agriculture and animal husbandry, good family relationships, and so on.
- 8th rank - masters of the earth, they protect nature, mountains, rivers, forests. This rank of deities includes Garuda, snake-like nagas and others.
Bodhisattvas:
It is worth mentioning separately about the most famous bodhisattvas. This is a significant, significant layer. It is believed that they themselves came to Enlightenment and guide other people to this.
The most famous images: Mahasattva - can take any form, Shakyamuni - a teacher, Manjushri - is depicted surrounded by light, riding a lion, while in one hand he holds a sword and in the other a book.
Avalokiteshvara is the god of compassion, takes 108 different forms, the most common is a white deity, with four arms, holding lotus flowers in his hands. Vajrapani is depicted in a blue hue, with a bell in her hand.
Tara is a female goddess, she has seven eyes on all parts of her body. The attribute of this goddess is a white pure lotus.
