About Buddhism:

Buddhism is an ancient, multifaceted religion. Buddhism arose in ancient India, around the 5th century BC. Distributed throughout most of Asia.

This religion had its followers in various parts of the world. And in Thailand, and in India, and in China, and in Cambodia, and in Nepal, and in Korea, and in Vietnam, and in Taiwan. And in many other cultures. Each region acquired its own characteristics and its own characters of the divine pantheon. Each Buddhist school, each time period has its own interpretations.

There are several Buddhist centers in Russia. Although their number is negligible. Most of them were formed either by residents of Buryatia, Kalmykia, Tuva, or arose in our time in large cities for followers of this type of religion.

All this led to the widest variety of Buddhist deities.

Each culture has its own pantheons, its own categories and its own classification. We will give only one of them.

There are 8 main categories in Tibetan Buddhism.

  • 1st rank - these are enlightened buddhas. Their task is to educate and, thereby, save ordinary mortal citizens. Among them are Buddha Shakyamuni, Maitreya (Buddha of the future), three luminaries. And others.
